As a left-handed crocheter, so often we have to teach ourselves how to convert patterns from right side to left side in our heads and I wanted to share my left handed guide for any beginner crocheters who may not be able to convert patterns yet. Abbreviations:
Ch = Chain
SC = Single Crochet
HDC = Half Double Crochet
Dc = Double Crochet
st2tog = Stitch 2 Sc Together
slst = Slip Stitch
St(s) = Stitch(es)
Skill Level:

Supplies:
– Worsted Weight Yarn (4ply)
– Crochet hook size 3.0 mm
– Stitch Markers
– Yarn Needle
– Scissors
Gauge:
8 dc = 2″ (10 cm) across.
Size:
3″ h x 2″ w
Notes:
This is meant to be worked Left Handed. We are working from the top of the insignia down.
Rows are worked back and forth.
Use stitch markers to keep clean edges.
Starting here:
Chain 3 and SC into the second St from the hook.(2) Chain 1 Turn.
Row 2: 2sc into the first stitch, SC (3) Chain 1 Turn.
Row 3: 2sc into the first stitch, 2 SC (4) Chain 1 Turn.
Row 4: 2sc into the first stitch, 3 SC (5) Chain 1 Turn.
Row 5: 2sc into the first stitch, 4 SC (6) Chain 1 Turn.

Continue:
Row 6: 2sc into the first stitch, 5 SC (7) Chain 1 Turn.
Row 7: 2sc into the first stitch, 6 SC (8) Chain 1 Turn.
Row 8: 8 sc, (8) Chain 3, Turn.
Row 9: Crochet 1 DC into 3rd st from the hook, HDC, SC, slst, 5 SC. (9) Chain 1 Turn.
Row 10: 5 SC. (should be back at slst from last row) 2 slst, SC, HDC, SC, (10) Chain 1 Turn.
Row 11: Sc, 3 slst, 5 SC (9) Chain 1 Turn.

Row 12: 4 SC, 1 st2tog (5) Turn.
Row 13: 4 SC, (4) Chain 1 Turn.
Row 14: 2 SC, 1 st2tog (3) Turn.
Row 15: 3 SC, (3) Chain 1 Turn.
Row 16: 1 SC, 1 st2tog (2) Turn.
Row 17: st2tog the last two sts.
Fasten off. Flip right side up. With yarn needle, weave in loose tails.
Finishing Notes:
The pattern can be finished as is, or you can add a border to it, or also add embroidery!
